Want to know aboutheating the sealed underbelly of a camper through the existing furnace in the camper. We have a ducted heating system in the floor.

There is a small hole in the duct work in the underbelly that supplies heat to your tanks when the propane heater is running. Plus the radiant heat off that duct work.

thanks we want to do December camping during rifle deer season in northern PA. How cold of weather have you camped in? and have you had any problems?

Down here in Texas we don't have to run the propane heaters much. Last deer season I think I turned ours on one time.

We have camped a weekend with night temps down to 27F, day temps mid 40sF.

We had frost on the inside lower levels of the main slide. I found that the vent pillows really helped in keeping the cold out too.

x2 on the vent pillows. I'm also going to try the bubble wrap for the windows this deer season. I've only camped with night time lows in the mid 20's, but the heater did just fine. Of course, once it gets to that level consistently, I go ahead and drain the water lines just in case. Not sure if you have utilities or not there, but if you use a supplemental electric heater, that could affect how much you camper system runs.

We use our unit doing volunteer work for weeks at a time and generally use small electric heaters rather than running the furnace. On my previous Cruiser I even closed off the heater "duct" into the basement. Even under these conditions, there were no problems with temps between 25 and 32 degrees for as long as 2-3 days. The first thing that is likely to freeze is the fresh water pickup tube, not the tanks themselves.
