hooking battery backwards

After hooking up backwards blew all the fuses. But after replacing everything I still have no part to the radio/dvd outlet. Checked all the other plugs and they work fine. Tried plugging a fan into the outlet to confirm it was not the radio and no power. Any ideas where this line comes from?

Is the outlet 110 volt? You say you plugged in a fan. Is the fan 12v or 110. Are you talking about a cigarette plug or a household outlet. If it is 110 then check the breakers not the fuses. If 12v then there might be a inline fuse behind the plug. Good luck.

Please put the make, model, and year of your camper in your signature so people know just what unit you are talking about.

Once, I hooked up the battery backwards, blew a 40 amp fuse plus the in-line fuse of my radio/cd player.

I did the same the first spring I had my camper. There’s a fuse in the radio itself that will have blown. As for a power outlet, check all breakers. Also, the outlet itself may have a built in GFI. Good luck.

Also could be a gfi outlet in the kitchen or bathroom that has tripped. Let us know what you find out.

RED tape, RED tuck tape, RED zip ties, anything that can jog the memory or prevent hooking that cable backwards. I never had red electrical tape last fall so red vapor barrier tuck tape was only thing available, and this fall added a couple red zip ties. After reading the consequences backwards is something I want to eliminate at any cost...

I labeled mine with a label maker. POS & NEG...No chance of hooking it up backwards....

From my trailer, the white cable goes to the battery's negative terminal, while the black one goes to the positive terminal. There is a label on the frame of the trailer reminding me of this.

You are correct but most people relate red to hot and positive is always hot. So the red paint or tape idea is great incase the sticker comes off and one makes the misrake of hooking wrong. I took off all stickers on my unit and tongue has been painted.
