Hot water heater

I have a 2006 Cross Roads Cruiser. My hit water heater has began to malfunction. It has began to fail to ignite automatically. It will refute, burn for a few seconds and go out. It will reignite if I switch off the igniter switch and then the gas switch, wait about 30 seconds, turn on the gas switch, wait about 30 seconds, turn on the igniter switch and it will reignite and fire off and stay burning. Any ideas on what the problem is?

Could you provide the brand and model number of the water heater. It would help to know what you are working on. On my 05 Cruiser my water heater has 2 switches - 1 for gas and 1 for the electric heating element. I do not have a "igniter switch" so not sure what you have and as its a 06 someone may have put a different water heater in it.

That said on mine it sometimes lights then will go out then relight after I change out a propane bottle till all the air is purged.

Pull ignitor. Polish electrodes. Re try. Eventually it will need replacing.

Mine does the same thing, when I first turn it on. I go out, pull a small fuse, re-insert it, and it will work the entire time we camp.

Sounds like you are resetting the electronics. I'd guess you have a bad control board.

Wish they would post back as I still would like to know what kind of water heater has a "gas switch and a igniter switch"
