I just used my 2012 32QB Slingshot for the first time this year and the second night, the hot water heater stopped producing hot water. Fuse was good, power was good, had water, didn't try the propane switchg because I don't want to use that if I don't have to..... ANY suggestions would be appreciated....

Could the water level have ran down allowing the heating element to over heat? Like turning it on before the water was connected / tank was filled?

nope. filled it up before turning it on...worked fine the first night and 1st half of the second day. Quit working during shower at night.....

Should get it checked out. Might just be abad element. It happens even with the new ones.Thats what the warranty is for. Dont worry about useing propane. It don't use as much as you would think. I always turn mine on electric when I get to the campground. However, before I take a shower I always switch on the propane so I dont run out of hot water. Thats just me.

Make sure you check the rocker switch that controls the power to the electric element. Also, there is a relay just before the heating element that could go bad. Ours did.

That is exactly what I do...leave the electric on and only turn the gas on when the DW and I have to shower, then turn it off again. Has been working well for us. Now all I have to do is get down to CW and get the Oxygenic's Showerhead

Unusual for the water heater element to go bad that quick in a new trailer but certainly possible. Easy to check. TURN OFF AC power to the heater at breaker panel. Remove the 2 leads (the 120 volt supply) from the element and then check the continuity by measuring the resistance of the element. Use an ohmmeter, place leads on the two element terminals. If no resistance is measured the element is open and needs to be replaced.
By the way, isn't "hot" water heater a redundant term? It's actually for heating cold water. Why isn't it called a cold water heater?

Actually quite different. The two terms you mentioned are goofy but correctly used terms. On the other hand check Lowes or Home Depot websites and you will find the heaters correctly listed as "water heaters". No HOT in the name.
That has yet to keep me from walking in and asking where the hot water heaters are....................it's all we've ever called them.

Yep, old enough to still have a "fridge" and a "xerox" machine too LOL Well, at least I didn't call it an "ice-box" although there are some on here old enough to remember them 
Have a great holiday weekend, just came from setting up the Cruiser in a campground...now to go get the grandkids and have some fun
