Hot water tank blowing fuse

I have a 2012 25RB SunSet Trail Reserve. When I attempt to switch from electric to propane on the panel it blows a appliance fuse, 15 amp.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The TT is 4 yrs old. Is this the first time it's happened? Or is this TT new to you? You're blowing a fuse in the 12 volt circuit, which is used for control and ignition. Examine the wires on both front and back of water heater. Sounds like a critter has been chewing on something. Otherwise, it could be a component failure at the panel or on the heater.

Mine blew a fuse last year. I replaced it, and it blew again when I tried to turn it on under gas. When I opened the cover outside, I noticed that some of the wires had melted as a result of a flare up caused by a spider nest in the gas tube.

Have you opened it up to inspect everything outside?

If it's a Suburban heater take the black cover over the 2 reset buttons outside & make sure the wires aren't shorted against the tank. On mine both the 120 & 12v were almost cut in two & shorted the 12 volt by that cover & the lip of the metal, I folded the metal as best I could & trimmed the black cover about a 1/4".

Thanks for all the responses! The camper is new to my wife and I had only been slept in dozen or so nights and the bathroom was not used. Was stored inside most of the year and still smelled new inside. I'll check all y'all mentioned and let you know the outcome. Leaving on a big trip mid week.

Finally had a look at the the wiring inside the camper at the water tank location. Found two crimped wires melted, a green and a red wire. I cut them back and put a new crimp in and it blew another 15 amp fuse. I then cut the two apart and tried it turning on the propane switch once more and it worked! Not sure what those two wires go to. Any thoughts?
