Unhappy I'm an Idiot: part ??

While towing the 5th wheel to the dealer for a minor repair, I stopped to check out what I thought was an issue with the hitch. I lowered the tailgate and looked around the hitch and found no issues. I then looked at the rv axle and suspension also, and not finding anything wrong, I jumped into the truck and took off.
About 30 minutes later I stopped in for my favorite DD coffee. Walking by the truck I noticed that I had forgot to flip the tailgate up. What was amazing was with all the turns and maneuvering to get into DD, the tailgate did not damage the Rv at all.
Can't believe that I was that lucky not to have damaged either the tailgate or the RV. I just chalked one up in the idiot column. And I'm sure that this is not the end of the list.

Just don't become complacent with the tailgate.

We have all done stuff like that at one time or another...That is the main reason why I don't like to talk to any one when I am setting up the camper or breaking down...I like to stay focused...

Close call. I'm glad to hear there was no damage.

It is hard to stay focus, when you have a seven year old Granddaughter asking a whole bunch of questions about what you are doing can be rather big wake up call when you pull out, though the body shop love it

It's hard to stay focused when any of the grandkids are around, but I wouldn't wanna be without em either.
