Inverter Question ?
So I’ll admit I’m not the sharpest when it comes to watts/Amps. So I have a 10” Utilitech fan mounted on the wall in the bedroom. See pic #1. I have used a 300w 12v-AC inverter to run the fan when dry camping (plugged into the cigarette plug in the ceiling) and fan plugged into the inverter. I’ve had this inverter for many years and it finally died. I’m deciding on another 12v inverter to buy. The 300w I had would hang down due to the cord; which I’ve never liked. See pic #2. So I found another one that’s 150w that doesn’t have a cord. See pic #3. So my question is: Is this 12v - 150w inverter enough to run this fan? I don’t know the amps the fan draws and it doesn’t say anywhere on the fan.

Checking other similar and larger fans they draw around 3-6 amps. I believe that's in the 4 - 12 watt range, give or take a few.

Wow, I was way off. The 150w should be plenty then. Told you I wasn’t to sharp on watts and amps. Lol

3amps at 120v is 360w. The fan he is using is 120v

You're are correct. I mistakenly assumed it was a 12v fan. Long day in the sun.

Ok, so the 300 w inverter I’d used in the past was to small. I need at least a 400w???

The fan should have a label stating the amp draw, multiply the amps by 120 and that will give the watts.

I don’t know the amps the fan draws and it doesn’t say anywhere on the fan. I’ve looked everywhere.

I have a similar 10" Vornado fan that draws 0.5 amp, or 60 watts.

Update
So, I got time to take my fan off the wall this morning. On the back of the mount that goes against the wall was the info. (Enclosed picture). If you enlarge the picture so you can see the tiny writing. (For us older folks). If I’m correct it says it runs 0.7A. Which if I multiply that times 120 = 84 Amps. So, correct me if I’m wrong here; then the 150 inverter (third picture in OP) should be fine to run my fan?????

You got everything correct except it's 84 watts instead of 84 amps.
Your little inverter should handle it.
