kitchen slide out trouble

We have a 2010 CF30SK. The slide-out will not extend unless you monkey around with the toggle switch back and forth until it eventually catches and extends. Any ideas what the problem could be? No problem retracting though.

Are you pushing the switch and nothing is happening no noise nothing? Or does it make noise like the gears are stripped sort of a grinding noise?

Pull the switch panel and check the connections and the continuity of the switch. Switch could be bad and you can order a replacement,

It's like a click, click, click, click sound when I'm pushing the toggle switch out but it isn't moving. Then all of a sudden a louder clunk, clunk, clunk sound and it starts extending.

Just my opinion but it sounds like a gear problem. I would take it in before it breaks completely. On ours the switch sticks every now and then. Next time we are out I will remove it and spray some contact cleaner on it. Good luck.

The clic clic clic is prob. The safety clutch? Check thealignment or look for a high friction point somewhere

Crawl under the slide and look at the drive gear...Look for broken or worn teeth on the drive gear or the teeth on the drive bar...Have someone extend and contract the slide as you are watching...If the teeth are worn it may pop until it hits a tooth that starts the slide moving...

Do NOT continue holding the switch when moving the slide until you hear the ratcheting sound when the slide gets to the end of travel. As soon as it hits the stops, let go of the switch. The slide may also need some minor adjustments to the stops.

Sounds like the gear box. Does it make a clunking noise. If so the teeth in the gear box are missing.
