Ladder recommendations
Hello...So I am planning to get up on the roof at some point to do a wash and inspect. New to these beasts and while I did look it over prior to purchase (used), I want to be able to get up there for periodic cleanings and such. Don't have a ladder. Any particular one that you folks can recommend? Was thinking of getting one of those multi position ones, as I can see other uses for it but not sure if those would be stable or not. Suggestions? Sizes? (my roof height is about 9 feet. Thanks. Jim

To be honest, I have a heavy duty multipostion ladder however I always end up using the collapsable one I keep in the trailer. Point being, folding ladders require you to "mount/dismount" perpendicular to the roof line requiring you to either have exquisite gymnastic skills or a helper that can keep the ladder from walking. At least with the lean-to ladder I can steady it as i am coming down.
I bought my 12 footer collapsible from one of those overstock dailydeal websites several years ago, but here is a link to a similar one on amazon.

Be careful going “On” the Roof if your trailer does not have a ladder attached. It probably is t stout enough to walk on. You can spread your weight though on a piece of plywood.
I use a collapsible ladder, but I’ve seen an “A” frame that folds to very small poles, 6 or 7 feet long. Sometimes I wish I had one of those.

Ordered the one that Lorangs posted. Thanks for the recommendations and the caution about being up on the roof. Yeah, I do have some plywood and most likely will be on all fours and not stand up.

My husband goes up there to sweep the slides and awning and has had no trouble standing on the roof. Glad it works out for you. Best invention!

Brown truck came by today and dropped it off. I climbed up to the roof, very sturdy. Did some cursory checks and found a couple spots where caulk is cracking slightly. Also that vinyl molding (stuff that clicks in a channel) along the roof was coming off in one spot. Pushed that in but can see I will probably need to replace it and it seems to have shrunk or something. That ladder is great though. Thanks again. Jim

Just be VERY careful when that ladder comes closed, it can/will smash a finger if you have it in the wrong spot, voice of experience.

Ditto on the 12.5' collapsible from Groupon.
Mine arrived last week $89.00 shipped, very impressed.
Thanks whomever suggested it first, I kinda lost track.
