Question Ladder weight restriction

Does anyone know what the weight limit is on the ladder attached to the RV? I'm sure it won't hold me, plus you have to be agile like a spider monkey to climb straight up.

I might buy some sort of extendable ladder anyway. I don't like the force of any weight pulling on the connection points. Goodness knows they may not even be attached to a stud. Also if the electric awning fails, as mine has, I was glad to be at home where I had a 12 foot step ladder, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to get my 3/4 nut driver attached to my cordless drill on the nut to get it rolled back in. I'm still not sure how I would get to the one on the front of the 5er if that failed. It seems like it's 20 feet in the air, but most likely less than 13 since the overall height of the unit with A/C is 13 something.

There is a sticker on the ladder, I think mine said max 250#. Wish you had asked earlier, I just took the trailer back to storage this morning, I could have looked at it, and given a definite number. Don't know if you have the same ladder, ours has mounts at the bottom, about 8" above the bumper, two sets up the back wall, about 2' apart, and on the roof about 18" from the edge.

agree, every rv ladder I've had has been undersized and next to impossible to get over that last step, especially coming down !

so I got a collapsible that stores into a 1' x 2' x 3" footprint and can be used all around the rv and at home...

I will check mine for a sticker. I don't recall seeing one when I washed and waxed the unit. I wish I weighed 250#. My wife uses it and she's about 150 and that thing shakes and shimmies when she's going up and over. Usually we use a 12 foot step ladder and she transfers to the RV ladder and over the top. Otherwise I use an extension ladder and go up over a slide.

If you have to ask "will it hold me" you probably should not go up it.

Exactly, lol. I've always been wary about using the ladder.
