Could any one explain how to get to the rear tailight wires without tearing through the wall?

Hi tiger, I assume you are trying to get to the wires to splice on for a trailer hookup?

Being an old trlephone man, I hate exposed wires (unsightly), therefore I tried everything to get wires from the taillights down to my trailer hitch. I finally gave up and ran wires down the outside from the lights but hid them in white plastic stick on wiring tracks. Not what I wanted but they don't look too awfully bad.

Thanks for the suggestion. If all else fails then I'll do the same. I'm an electrical lineman of 31 yrs. I would prefer a more professional job myself

They can be accessed from behind the rear tailights. You also MAY be able to access them if you remove part of the underbelly fabric. I know the watertank is back there so finding the wires may be tough.

The wires DO run underneath. On each side. It is a pain in the butt to remove the fabric but it is doable and you'd only have to remove the very rear portion...

It would be a long way to run them, but I think you can access them atthe juntion box where the trailer plug cord that hooks to your truck is at.

I have a stupid question, I know that on my suburban the wires where all ready in a harness and tucked underneith my rear bumper. You might want to take a look at the bottom of your bumper first. They may be through already.
