Looking for Mattress Recommendations

Hello all. (If this topic is covered elsewhere, please point me in that direction, and thanks!)

We are considering replacing the mattress that came with our trailer, and I wanted to get some recommendations from the community on what brands you like, and which ones to avoid. I know a mattress is a subjective and personal thing, and different types work best for different people, but if you have an opinion or experience you'd like to share, we'd appreciate hearing it!

Thanks!

Spendy, but Denver mattress is what came with our 5th wheel. Replaced with the same. 600.00. RV size...

We got a Tuft & Needle "Nod"queen size foam mattress-in-a-box on a Black Friday Amazon deal for $300. Very comfortable, 8" thick. The mattress comes rolled up and compressed in plastic wrap so it ships easily. When it arrives, put it in your RV, remove the wrap and it expands.

Many mattress companies are delivering this way now. Another resource is Consumer Reports, who recently did an extensive review of mattresses.

Also bed in a box

We put a king size memory foam in our trailer. I don't think we would have gotten a king in there except for the bed in a box. Bought off of Ebay with a coupon for under $300. Love it. If buying from Ebay, stick with a reputable us based company.

Better than the mattress in the house

After our first trip in our 2018 zinger we decided we definatly needed an loo ther matterss the original one was so thin and uncomfortable. I searched high and low for a short queen and found one with good reviews on Amazon. I pulled the trigger and couldnt be happier. This has made sleeping possible in the camper. My wife and I both agree its more confortable than the one we have in the house.

comfort first

If your going to spend time in your RV, don't skimp on price. Most mattresses feel good for a little while then lose there support. We searched for a month then ran across a furniture store going out of business. We stopped and they had a 10" queen Stearns and Foster memory foam which normally sold for around $2000.00 and were asking $800.00. We offered $400.00 and they took it. Stearns and Foster makes mattresses for Ritz Carlton. Best buy we could make and sleep is heaven. Our mattress will outlast the RV.

Matress

Initially, we added 3 inch memory matress topper but didn’t seem comfortable and slid at times. Then we bought a 10 inch memory foam Zinus Rv queen from amazon. This matress is very comfortable.
This lists me as a new camper only to this site. I have been camping over 30 years strong with the wife, dogs and enjoying life.

We went with a custom order mattress that was only a little more money

We bought our Crossroads 250RB trailer used without a mattress. We live in San Diego Ca and went to a local mattress store called Mattress Makers to buy a new mattress for the house and in talking to them about our trailer we ended up buying a custom mattress from them for the trailer. It was about $150.00 more than we would have paid for a decent off the shelf mattress which probably wouldn't have been as comfortable. We go camping to relax and their was no way I was going to dred going to bed like in my last camper! Spend the money now and enjoy forever.

Odd Bed Size

The bed platform is 55" x 78" in my 5th wheel. This seems to be an odd size since a full RV mattress is 55" x 75".

I've never been able to sleep thru the night in our RV. This is our 5th RV and always the same problem. Instead of replacing the mattress, I added a Dormeo topper to it. I had a quilted topper, which didn't make any difference. I no longer wake up with a backache. I used to have to grab the closet handle to pull myself out of bed because my back hurt so much. I think the Dormeo had a 90 day trial and you could return it. No way I'm returning it. I love it. https://www.dormeousa.com/

It's really hard to suggest a mattress for someone, since different people have different preferences for softness, hardness and other mattress options.
