Mattress replacement

It’s time to replace the mattresses/sleeping pads on our new to us 2011 29bh Slingshot.

What are your best hacks and frugal solutions? This is not a full time RV, and the 2 bunks will be used by teenagers less than 10 nights a year. Should I just cut down good mattress toppers to fit? Give them air mattresses? Toss them their tent sleeping mats and leave it at that?

Queen bed for mom and dad gets an actual upgrade. Has anyone used a standard bed in a box memory foam mattress? I know it’s too long, but I have power tools.

Some of those bunks are not built the strongest. I would check to see what the weight limits are before putting one of those heavier foam mattresses up there.
Those teenagers backs seem to be a little more forgiving than us adults back.

By the way, welcome aboard.

Back in 2013 for my Zinger ZT260BH I added 2” medium density foam under the bunk mattresses. Worked great for my kids and even me when I went to the lower bunk for those afternoon naps lol.

Check with Mattress Insider. They have custom fit mattress's for odd shapes. We bought a queen size years ago and it is still as good as new.

Have purchased 2 queen size and one custom size from Mattress Insider over the years. All proved to be excellent and two are still in use today.
