Was using the microwave timer to keep track of an item I was cooking on the stovetop. Started smelling plastic burning and thank God I saw the fames inside the microwave. A hole burned from the bottom and busted the glass plate in the bottom. Any idea what happened? Dometic microwave, which I assume is stock. 2005 Zinger!
wow. glad everyone is ok! Are you sure it wasn't actually turned on and cooking instead of just timing? Also any chance any metal could have been in there? I have seen a microwave catch fire from the little twist ties on a loaf of bread.
You know, it could be possible, but I don't think so. Nothing was in there for sure. Maybe I did screw up and turn it on versus the timer. At any rate, I need a new microwave. I assume any Walmart MV will work, correct?
