microwave issue

Has anyone ever come across an issue with a microwave that seems to have lost some heating capability? What used to heat up in a couple minutes now seems to take five minutes.

Sad story for ya. We purchased our Rushmore new. Never tested the microwave. Got it home. We full time RVers. Microwave would not work. Domestic brand. Called dealer. 15 miles away. Bring in the trailer they said. We live in it full time. I asked if they could come out. Sure can for $50.00 service call. Not happening. Dealer then called crossroads, got a new microwave. Please bring in your 5th wheel. Nope we live in it full time remember. Then ask me if I could install it. I'm so mad...I said sure. Well second dometic did not work either. Now really mad. I went down to local appliance store. Bought a Frigidaire microwave. Crossroads wrote me a check fpr the one i purchased. Worked great for 14 months. Crapped out..1 year Warrenty. Bought a LG convection oven next. Love this thing. End of story.

At first I was going to say it must be from bouncing down the road, but after reading the last post I'm convinced that Ramn4ver is jinxed.

It was also a High Pointe. Replaced it with a brand called Concourse and it is doing the same thing. I would think if the voltage was low it just would blow a breaker or something.

Hello regnoc,

I have sent you a private message to see what we can do about your microwave. I apologize it is not heating for you. Look forward to working with you

Maybe one of these would help. It will tell what you have for voltage at all times. It's possible you are getting some low voltage where you are plugged in.

Good tips, Thanks. I don't have one but would be smart to get one asap as well as the voltage monitor. But if the voltage is below 110 wouldn't the breaker trip?

Not necessarily. That's what they call a brown out.

Just my experience. Our 50 amp male connection on our rig melted down about 6 months ago. Repairman said it might of come from factory that way. Not wired correctly I never had it disconnected for two years. Perhaps looking at that might be a issue.
