We park our Zinger under trees without any protection from the leaves, bird droppings, etc. The only thing it is protected from is the sun. Because it's under the trees, we get a lot of mold on the roof and on anything else that mold can grow on (awning, sealant for the corners, etc). What can I use to get that off?

I have always use spic and span on the roof, but it has never really took the mold off and left it a bright white, like what I'm looking for.

Thanks in advance,

Joe

I have used a thinner called Napthan (spelling may not be totally correct),but this wasafter the dealer contacted the roof company and ask.It worked real well, but you had to do small areas at a time, because you don't want it running down the side of your camper and discoloring the decals.

Just a word of caution. Naptha solvent is petroleum based, and as such is indicated as an item NOT to be used on rubber roofs. It will break down your EPDM roofing.

Just make sure you always use the Rubber Roof Condiditoner too. The spots may always be there, but you need to keep it conditioned.

I am not certain weather you have a mold problem, or a tree sap problem. I have a leaning to think it might be the tree sap

I think you're right. I know the cotton woods trees around the trailor gives off sap on our other vehicles.

Does anyone know what can take tree sap off a trailer? Bleach?

Thanks,

Joe

Joe, I would be careful what you use as stated above it can have a bad effect on the rubber of the roof. There are many products from people like Thretford made to clean the roof AND condition the rubber. You might try their web site and see what they have.

Does camping world offer something that will be good in taking off the wax and at the same time, not damaging the roof?

I would suggest you go to Dicor's web site for roof cleaning and maintenance issues. They make the rubber roof material and have several products available.

When I got my PP I called both crossroads and the roof company I was told by both that the so caleed "roof conditioners " did absolutley nothing and were not needed, I use spic and span in a bucket and I add a cup of clorox, takes everything off and the roof stays snow white, I do it a few times a year, a clean roof sure does help keep the black streaks off the side of the camper.....

Just remember that if the mold is in the rubber, nothing will get it out. It does that down here in the southeast.
