Need new slide motor

2007 crossroads zinger slide motor quit working. I took it apart and it looks good except for one spring on one of the brushes is broken. Is there anywhere I can buy a reconditioned motor. New ones are very expensive especially when it’s only one tiny spring that is broken.

Can you replace the brush and spring only? I know Amazon carries them.

Have you searched on eBay? I've found RV parts on there at a reasonable price a few times.

Do a search for carbon armature brushes.

I’ve tried that but every set of brushes I see has a spring attached like a slinky on one end of the brush. Mine have a post with a spring on it beside the brush and a piece of wire (bottom part of the spring)extending from the bottom of the spring that pushes the brush along. Made in China

Spring is 1/4 inch high and 1/4 inch across. Motor is 2 1/2 inches across.
Model# is 64ZYT05 and I just priced it at an rv dealer for $1500 Canadian.
I see a lot of cranking in our future Lol

Don't mess with brushes, get the motor.
You'll be glad you did.

Thanks. I’ve seen cheaper ones ($600) on amazon. Nothing on eBay that I can see but RV parts dealer said I had to get exactly the same one that they aren’t interchangeable Does anyone know if he is correct or just trying to make a sale. Hate to pay hundreds, install and find out it doesn’t work on my rig.

Contact the awning manufacturer. You'll most likely have better luck with parts & cheaper than going through a RV dealer.

TT, it's a slide motor he's asking about.

Pretty sure I could find a spring I could "adjust" for that price!

Poke around this site, if it's a Lippert slide they may have a different part number for it. https://www.rvupgradestore.com/Lippe...tors-s/286.htm

Go to our Document section. Under "Systems" is a download link for Lippert Master Manual. See if you can find your motor number there.

Or, here's a link: file:///C:/Users/15702/AppData/Local...ble-manual.pdf

Try a auto electric rebuilder.

Most auto electric rebuilders carry parts for many different motors of all kinds of motors. They may be able to fix the motor.
