Thumbs up

Finally Solved: First I rewired the N-G Bond plug back to green screw to silver screw which is neutral/ground. Tried surge on the single generator without the parallel kit and when I first hooked to surge without the N-G plug I got an open ground message. Plugged in the N-G plug and E-0 (Normal Operation). Then tried the other generator without the parallel wires attached and with N-G plug it showed E-0 (Normal Operation). Ok then tried the single generator with the parallel kit and how it was wired yesterday. With the N-G plug in it showed an E-3 message (reverse polarity). Then I simply reversed how the parallel wires were plugged into the generator and got E-0 (Normal Operation) message. Then plugged in the parallel wires to the other generator and all is E-0 (Normal Operation). Also it doesn't matter which way I have the wires plugged into the second generator but evidently it does on the first. Thank you all for your input and I hope this will help someone else in the future that has a Honda generator and a progressive surge protector. Whooo Hooooo

Hooray! Great step-by-step elimination! Great advice from Wildasindrive, and the guy who sent the link. We all learned something on this one! Enjoy!

x2 on posting the issue and resolution folks.

I actually finally got off my duff and called Champion (maker of my generator)customer service regarding using the N-G Bond plug. I get a similar reading on my prime power line monitor. The open ground lamp lights up ever so faintly.

Suprisingly, the customer service person, with a heavy but polite Canadian-French accent told me to have at it with the neutral ground bond plug and gave me the usual, "but have a licensed electrician inspect..blah blah to cover their butts.

Going to build mine tonight and try it out. Only 1 way to screw this up right

I am so happy for you. I know it would bug the heck out of me if I had this issue. Electricity is a very fickle thing and wants to be all in line and happy. The problem with it is that when its unhappy, its hard to figure out and can cause injury or loss of electronics.

Instructions? We don't need no stinkin instructions! You have a 50/50 chance to get it right. Right? If your wrong. You'll know [emoji846]

Just kiddin. You all don't want to wire the ground hot. Very bad things will happen.

I used The document. Thanks a million Lloyd. Tired of seeing the open ground light on when dry camping. Works like a charm

Read the whole post. (From Beginning) Wasn't just making a N-G bond.

Sorry. Just trying to help. Sure did seem like it was the plug you were having an issue with.
