Noisy Entrance Door

My TT has just one door. It has those slam proof hinges that hold the door open unless the wind is blowing. The hinges have become very noisy. If I oil them will they become even more worthless than they already are? Has anyone tried oiling them?

Have you checked the hinge side to see if the door is separating from the frame?
Has it got what's called "friction hinges"? If so there has been issues with them.
If it has the friction hinge, you might end up replacing them.

A very thin lubricant may help. But if there issues like Lloyd said, you may want to consult the dealer.

Yes, they're the friction hinges. They haven't broken yet, but the way they're growling they will eventually.
Perhaps I should just oil them and then add a stainless steel door holder:

I tried teflon spray, that didn't work. I'll try a light oil. If that doesn't work the way I need it to I'll add the door holder and if the hinges break I guess I'll replace them. There are three hinges and they appear to be sold in 2 packs. Does that make sense?

A shot of WD40 and they are now quiet, but they're no longer friction hinges.

Assuming I can find a place to mount the door holder, I'll just do that.
Using a stud finder I can't easily locate anyplace solid to screw into. The outside of my trailer appears to be FRP or fiberglass bonded to Styrofoam. I think there's an aluminum stud about every 4 feet or so. I'll wait for it cool off this evening and try to locate something solid.

I use a white grease lubricant. Working in by moving the door back and forth then wipe off excess.
