Testing out my 2014 Crossroads Sunset Trail 33 BD this weekend and I notice the 65AMP power converter seemed louder than when I did the PDI at the dealership. It sounds like the fan is speeding up each time I turn a set of lights on. Does this sound normal? I did not notice this sound at all during the PDI. The video makes it sound a bit louder than it is but it still noticeable even with the panel cover one.
The converter fan will speed up as more lights (current draw is increased) are turned on. It's a cooling fan and is normal. Swapping lights for LED's will lower the current draw and slow down or eliminate the fan noise. The fan will also run if the battery is low as the converter charges it up. Again...normal.
Stan's correct. Normal operation of that cooling fan.
Our camper came with LED lights and you can still hear the fan running because it is vented inside the trailer. We're pretty used to it by now.

I have the same unit, did the same thing. I replaced ALL of the light bulbs with LEDs and that really cut back how much the inverter fan came on. I personally think they are really close on capability of the inverter with this big a** rig. I have dealt with a number of other issues as well, so if you have questions, do a search or just ask! BTW, overall, we are very happy with our 33BD.
