Question Non-walkable roof

Can anyone give me advice on the best way to get on my non-walkable roof for maintenance?

Lay a piece of plywood down and spread your weight out on it by lying flat and spreading your weight out.

Use a ladder to get up then a piece of plywood to spread out your weight. Kind of a combination of both posts.

I have the same type of roof.
You can walk on it, but you can only step on the trusses which are 16" on center apart.
Because my roof is arched, a flat piece of plywood doesnt help much. I bought 3 pieces of shelving that are abour 12" wide x 36" long. Whenever i have to get up to do some work I make sure the span at least 2 trusses if not 3. Then I can repossition the orhers 2 as needed.
Although it's not ideal, you can make it work. I only get up there a couple times a year.

Thanks John, that was my worry about the plywood also. I will try the smaller boards and see how it goes. Wish me luck

I walked all around on mine this spring when installing solar panels, and servicing/repairing the AC cover which had a couple cracks in it. I for the most part tried to walk on the rafters but not always directly over top of them, with virtually little to no issues and I weigh 210 lb. When I installed my solar panels the roof appeared to be sheeted over with what appeared to be 3/8 plywood, and if you only weigh 150 lb, I'd say you have nothing to worry about. But still try and use some care and common sense, and you might not want to have a dance party or all your buddies up there to watch the races.....

When I need to go on the roof I use the plywood covers on the dinette benches, they are the perfect size and are always handy to get to.

I've opened up your upper fridge vent before to install extra fans to move more air through the back of the fridge for better cooling. Trust me, my roof is 3'8 plywood. But if your referring to the thickness of the skylight, no doubt..I'll take your word for it, cause the only other way I don't want to find out is after a hail storm...

You have the exact same trailer as mine, but one yr older, maybe they switched to 3/16" in 2013? All I know is when I took off inside cover for skylight , it was thin luan wood. Also keep an eye on your skylight as the cracks will show up sňner or later as they are all over torqued and cracked but the cracks are covered with alpha self leveling caulk.

It is very easy to find the trusses, I have never used plywood but it is a good idea. Me being an old carpenter, I have walked on my roof trusses 100 times and never any issue.
