Just be sure to lay a small bead and have the mineral spirits ready if you apply this stuff. It skins fast and is a mess once it starts setting (5 min. or less).

I have never used the Eternabond tape but have read all the good stories about it's use, and it appears to be a near permanent fix. My concern would be should it ever needed to be removed.

On a previous trailer that required roof repair, KZ RV told me to use Dicor Self-Leveling Caulk where the rubber roof met the front cap. They also said to use it around vents, etc on the roof.

It may not be as permanent as Eternabond but could be removed s needed. Cost from a local RV parts store was about $8 per tube.

Of course I am assuming Crossroads roof is compatible with this type of caulk.

Re cruizinIL's post. I have to wonder. The skeptic in my looks at this and says 'Hmmm! Just joined the Forum and on the same day posts a negative comment'. Sounds like some of the ones you find over at RV.Net. We've had our Cruiser for four years. We go out an average of once a month on a three day week-end. Sometimes travel some bumpy roads. Things rattle around, things go adrift. Oh,well ! These units, just like all things mechanical, electrical, and what not do require maintenance and periodic looking after. You just can't use it, put it away, take it out months later and expect the same performance. I just made a TO Do list for some over and above maintenance items. I expect these things. This is like a car, or a house. Yet there are some folks out there that expect miracles. I don't get my shorts in knot over it. I don't depend on a dealer for maintenance , I either do it myself or call in a mobile mechanic. We could have bought a cheaper unit or a more expensive one. We didn't. We like the Cruiser and bought it and we're happy with it.

Well I will be at the factory to have mine repaired this Tuesday. Randy at the factory and my dealer both told me that I was responsible for the caulking on the outside of my 5ver(labor and material), after only having it for less than 6 months. There is 2 different types of caulking on my 5ver. I told them at the factory that my warranty stated that the entire unit was covered for a period of two years and it listed exceptions and the caulking was not listed under the exceptions. It says that the caulking needs to be maintained for the structural warranty. I don't know, but I hope to get it clarified when I go to the factory. The young lady that I sopke toat the factory said that Randy would look at it and take care of it when I come into have everything else repaired.

Well I went to the factory and got my 5ver fixed. Just got home from a long, long day. They started to work on my unit at 5:30 am and finished with it at 1:45. There was 3 techs working on it and Randy even got in on doing some things. Hopefully I'll have it out this weekend and try everything out.

I even got to meet Lonnie when he dropped off his unit.

Way to go CrossRoads.

#1. They started work at ...5:30AM!!

#2. Not 1 or 2, but 3 and even 4 techs on one unit.

#3. In and Out in 1 day. Awesome!

George, hopefully everything was repaired to your satisfaction and will stay that way!

Good luck to you too, Lonnie.

Heck, I've spent that much time in a Doctor's office and left knowing no more than when I got there!

I dropped my unit off yesterday and got to meet George to boot! It was nice to meet you George! It took me a moment to realize who I was talking to and then the "lights came on" and I realized..."oh yeah, George from the forum. DOH!" Glad they got you taken care of and back on the road. I seriously doubt there is another rv manufacturer out there that has better customer service.

I will be at the factory next Thursday for my list. Right now I am in New Mexico on vacation after driving across from Maine. I drove thru some lovely states and had a good trip thusfar. See my blog in my link.......

I did have a few new issues after traveling over 2400 miles but Randy stated he wanted me to make a list as we drive, so I am. I really think the front end flexes quite a bit near the pinbox so that's a item for them to address.

Well the trailer from hell has struck again....I was going to put the spices in the spice rack this morning and low and behold the spice rack is in upside down. After it was put in I looked at it and Randy looked it, I pulled on it to make sure it was tight and never realized until I went to put spices in it this morning. I called Crossroads to talk to Randy and he was not in, so I talked to one of the women there and asked if they had a camera for when I talked to Randy to get a Priceless picture. When Randy was told to call me he said he asked if they knew what it was about. They told him yes and that I wanted a picture of his face when he found out. When they told him what I was calling about, he could not believe it and had to go and talk to the tech and look at another Kingston before he would call me back. I can only laugh now. What an experience! Wish everyone could have one like this.

Glad to see your sense of humor is still intact. Velcro on the lids will keep the bottles snug in the spice rack. No really, what kind of solution has he come up with?

I'm hoping they will be able to convert you to "GeorgeG, The Happy Camper"!

They are going to send me out a trim piece to put across the bottom for now. If that doesn't work, I will have to let Randy know and if I make it to the rally he said we can take care of it then or we will have to make other arrangements.

The DW said the same thing and to take a picture and send it to Randy. The bad part is I had to look at pictures to realize the damn thing was upside down. Can always keep spices in a box and put them out when we get where we are going!

So George, when you saw them pulling my unit in...where they dragging it upside down?!?!?!?! Sorry, couldn't resist. Keep your sense of humor, Randy will take care of you and your inverted spice rack. It does say something about how"cushy" camping has become when we have spice racks in our campers.

The seal itself on camper itselfthat goes around the slide. you will only notice the topif you are on top of your camper. When we are going to leave our slides out for a period of time we like to make sure the rubber seal on the top is all the way out. That seal ison with some kind ofsticky tape and long staples then it is caulked. Some how the the caulking broke loose and the staples came apart from the camper. We are fixed now hopefully for the better.

We just bought some spray from the dealership to spray around the rubber seal. Hopefully it helps. Still like my Cruiser

Could not tell he had jeans on. He seemed to be getting around quite fine.
