Overhead fan wall swich melted!

The wall switch that controls the overhead fan in my 2010 CF30SK used to get really hot when in use. Eventually it just stopped working, so we haven't used it in a few years. My question is, do I need a switch that is both 120V and 12V? Where can they be had and are they expensive? Thanks for any light you can shed on this for me.

The switch should not have been hot/warm in the first place. Did you drop the inside housing on the fan and feel the motor wires near the fan to see if they got warm also? Could have been a motor to big for the wires. Or simply a faulty switch. How about a regular house wall switch?

Can you produce pictures of the switch and fan you are talking about...Not sure if you mean a ceiling fan or a fantastic fan, both have wall switches...

Some of the switches on my control panel get very hot. I brought this up when I first bought the trailer and they checked it out. They being CW. Said everything was normal....
