Oxidation streaks on windows

There's quite a bit of white streaking on my rear window from roof oxidation washing down over the window. When the sun shines on that window I can hardly see out. How do you remove this crap? I've tried window cleaner, fantastic and Crud Cutter, no joy. I've thought of using a mild auto compound or perhaps even bartenders friend (fine abrasive with oxacilic acid), but am hesitant to do this without advice.

I would try an automotive paint scratch remove (Mothers or Nu Finish Scratch Doctor), I used both on plexiglass to remove some scratches & it didn't harm the plexiglass. Also might try the headlight restorer stuff in a small area to see if it works. I can sympathize with you, we had snap on screens on our last 5er & that stuff running off the roof permanently stained the screens.
