Propane grill hookup

Okay, another question: I just purchased a Coleman tabletop propane grill for the coach. My question is what do I need to hook the factory gas grill propane line to my grill? Coleman's customer service people said that this can be done as long as I use the grill's propane regulator. Coleman makes an 8' propane extension hose but is there any special valve or coupling needed on the coach side?

The factory propane outlet is on the low pressure side of the coach regulator therefore you shouldn't need anything more than the proper couplers.

I see the Camping World rig. What are "proper couplers"? Would the 8' Coleman hose be enough or are special ends needed?

I doubt that you will be able to use your Colman with the coach low pressure port. Most of the portable units have a regulator that runs at a much higher pressure than the coach regulator. You will probably have to use the T suggested on the tank side of the coach regulator. I tried to use my Weber on the low pressure side of the coach without any success.<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" />

rcflyer is right,these grills that use the one pound bottles use a higher pressure than the normal camper stove or frige or furnace which is called low pressure.They make a Tee that goes between the bottle and rv regulater so you get high pressure out of the side of the Tee.I tried it once and ended up going back to normal.Wasn't enough room where my bottles were ofr the Tee to fit right.

I used a Coleman Roadtrip grill and the one I have now off the setup in the link I posted above with no problem. You are getting propane straight from the coach bottle into the regulator on the grill. The other connection at the bottle feeds into the trailer through the trailer regulator.Edited by: Hunter11

I bought the same set up at Fleet Farm, the Tee was maybe 20 or 25 dollars, I use my Roadtrip right off of the bottle. BUT, when that bottle runs out you need to move the tee, a pita. There is not a lot of room above the bottles-but it works great. The hose was maybe 15 or 20 dollars. A much more green alternative to the throw away bottles, cheaper as well.

I bought the Olympian stainless steel grill and tied it into the low pressure side (regulated) propane line. It works great!
