Propane hose for 305SK

Just bought a 305SK and it has a gas line plumbed that ends at the fold down stairs to the entrance to the camper. The end of the hard line looks like the old Webber grill connectors, and also has a shut off valve. Since I cannot get on the CR homepage to ask this question, I thought I would ask it here. Has anyone here found a propane hose that can be attached to this fitting and the other end to a roadtrip grill That way I would not have to carry a propane tank in the TV, and would be able to use the propane from the 5er for my grill. Good Morning Rosie and Tommy,We purchased the fitting and hose at Camping World and adapted the portable grill. That propanefitting on your RV has a part number on it; by Law. You will want that number to be sure you purchase the proper mate. As I recall you are supposed to keep the grill or open flame 5' from that fitting so get a long hose. That distance adds up afteryou place the grill on a stand and away from the RV.
That Quick Disconnect fitting on the RV has a built in Valve; you cannot turn on the propane until you have inserted the correct fitting.

That connection is also low pressure gas (after the trailers regulator). Don't know if that will affect your grill operation, or if you have to remove the grill's regulator.

yes what you say is true.
that was my dillema...getting rid of the "built in" regulator for my coleman stove, since the gas from the camper tanks is low pressure.

I picked up a 10' hose at CW. Because I will start full-timing and no longer need my roadmate grill to work with the tanks, I will be modifying the fitting by cutting off the regulator and putting an adapter on then Iwill connect to the 10' hose. IMHO if you want to ever use your Roadmate Grill with any tank again then you will want to order an extra adapter for the grill.

Unlike Seabee I can take the regulator off my Coleman grill, it is external, just need something to adapt the grill to the hose.

Dalemac377 thanks didn't even think about the regulator on the camper. I guess I will have to find out if there is any difference between the camper regulator and the Coleman regulator presures.

Dave thanks for your info also, didn't know the fitting had a part number. That will make it a whole lot easier.

There was a post just recently explaining how to make this propane line work with your grill including pictures showing how everything was done. I tried to find it in the search options but can't. Hopefully the member who posted it will reply to you. I plan on following his plan when time permits.

I found it. Go to the forum home page and under the Owners Club heading there is a section called revisions and modifications. Scroll down and you will find a post for the modifications to use that propane fitting to fuel your grill. It includes the names of the parts you will need and pictures of the assembled components.

Everyone -- I called CR customer service and talked to Terry Baughman there and gave him the last 7 numbers of the 5er VIN and he is going to get back to me with the number of the male fitting I need. It has been toooo cold for me to crawl under the camper and get the number off the female fitting. Getting lazy in my old age.

I ordered my 8ft hose from camp chef on line and I got the one listed, it works great. I didn't have to have any numbers. guess I got lucky. I have the Camp Chef double burner grill.

The fitting can be bought from any RV place..its a "propane " quick disconnect . Not the same as a natural gas quick disconnect that you buy from home depot for your home.

Everyone -- I am going to make a new post for those of us that have Coleman Roadtrip grills, and would like to use the camper LP quick-connect fitting on the entrance side of our campers.
