Radio and speaker question?

So I thought I had a bad outside speaker because when I played my iPod through the radio with the USB port I would get a vibration/muffled sound when the songs were playing. I could hear the song but it would sound as if the speaker was blown. So this weekend I plugged the iPod to the radio with a double male cord- from iPod speaker port to radio speaker port. Everything was clear when not using the USB port on the radio. Any suggestions. I might just have to play through the speaker ports. The only advantage using the USB port is it also charges the iPod at the same time. Here's a picture of the radio.

Not sure if this will do anything, but did you try to mess with the volume on the iPod when it was muffled?

Well I know it was the same when I played it through the speaker ports just like when I played it through the USB port. On both I had the volume turned all the way up on the iPod.

Try a different IPod cable, they do go bad after a while.

Good idea. I'll have to get another one. If not that I guess it would have to be the USB port. Maybe.

+1 on the different iPod cable. Also my experience with non-Apple cables is not good so I only use OEM.

Here are a couple more ideas. Try plugging the USB cable into your car or truck radio or your computer. Does the 5'er radio have an auxiliary button that controls the input? I gave up trying to run my old 36 pin iPhone through my Bose speakers and just used the stereo plug.
