Re Propane tanks

I’m looking at buying new propane tanks for my 2012 Crossroads Sunset trail reserve 31BH what size of tanks will it fit up to I was hoping to us 40 lb ones just not sure. My 20 lb tanks are too small for my needs. Thank you for any advice you can offer me I do have a plastic cover that goes over the tanks as well.,

Just go buy two 30-lb tanks and then you will need a taller plastic cover

Thumbs up Re propane tanks

Thanks for the advice was hoping to go with 40 lbs tanks but if I then need to replace the plastic tank cover better off staying with the 30 lbs ones.
Thanks again

Good choice. A full 40lb tank weighs 72 lbs whereas a 40lb tanks weighs 55 full.

. A 30 lb tank holds 7 gallons of propane and weighs 55 lbs full.

Empty it's 24lbs.

Hello... I have a sunset trail 253rb and I changed from the 20lb to the 30lb propane tanks and bought a longer cover. I quickly realized that I should have bought 40lb tanks. I use the furnace alot. I then bought 2 40lb tanks and used the 30lb cover on the 40s....The cover is Just a little bit short But works great. Tanks last a LONG time

One thing to remember is the 20# tanks can be exchanged anywhere but anything bigger has to be filled. We have 2 30# cylinders and i carry a 20 in the truck as a emergency spare. Hard to find a propane co open on a weekend.
