Removal of a drawer from its metal slides

Can anyone please tell me if you can remove a drawer from a metal slide? I have a spice rack drawer and the female part of the push latch broke. The first shelf is to close so I cannot remove the screws.

We had some issues removing a drawer last year to access the water pump. Here are two posts that followed my question, which helped:

When you pull the drawer out to the end of the slide, just let your end settle down, and it should come right out.
Those rollers have to lift up out of the slide. There is an opening in them for that.

On ours there are little tabs on the drawer hardware, where the rail slides into it, that need be depressed. One moves up and the other down. They are at the back on the sides of the drawer, hard to see, I just feel around for them. They feel flimsy and only move about an 8th of an inch, made of plastic. Then you just pull the drawer the rest of the way out.
