Our new to us Cruiser has oxidation on the front cap. It doesn't look bad, but it just doesn't have the same lustre as the rest of the camper. Have any of you had any luck restoring the shine to an oxidized front cap? If so, what product did you use? Did you use a buffer or do it by hand?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

It only took me 20 minutes to shine up my front cap with ths stuff. It removes the oxidation.

I used to spend hours waxing and polishing my rig. Stuff ain't cheap, but neither is my time.

I vote for the 3M product..Ace Hardware sells it. Bought a palm buffer at Walmart, made by Turtle Wax company. Edited by: Ramn4ver

Talked to Randy when I had my last 5er, with the same problem. He said the cap was made of fiberglass, so I could use rubbing compound, and then wax. He also said I could use a buffer, but to be careful as some could burn into the finish. That should bring up the shine.

Another option: Shurhold's Pro Polish with their random orbital buffer. Check out their website for lots of info and helpful how-to videos. Works for me.

Well, it took me a little while to get around to it, but I ordered a 4 pack of the EZ Detailer Cleaner Wax from Amazon. It works really well. The sides and back look like brand new, and it helped the front cap. It looks like I will have to buy a buffer and do some more work on the front cap, but it looks better than it did. I'd give the EZ Detailer an A+ for routine waxing.
