In the past I've had success with Protect All roof cleaner and treatment. You use a sponge mop with a bucket of fresh water and just spray and mop. You apply the treatment with the sponge mop also.
Here's a link with video and product info: http://www.protectall.com/rrclong.aspx

Unless they have changed their stance on roof cleaning and care, the only thing my info states is to "clean" the roof but they don't recommend using any treatment after the cleaning.

If you look at the bottom of my link there is a statement from Alpha Systems Inc.

Quote:
Alpha Systems, Inc. has been the proven leader in roofing material for more than 30 years as well as the undisputed leader in bringing EPDM reliability to the recreational vehicle market. Their Royal Roof, a Seamless EPDM Rubber Sheet is the standard of roofing quality used by manufacturers throughout the RV industry. Alpha Systems, Inc. highly recommends the use of Protect All Rubber Roof Cleaner and Rubber Roof Treatment on its rubber roofing system.
Alpha says, "As a manufacturer of quality products we can only recommend the use of top quality products on our rubber roof system. Use Protect All Rubber Roof products regularly to minimize your maintenance efforts and to maintain the appearance and integrity of your rubber roof."

Back in the day of his camper, and mine, they didn't recommend conditioners.

The link you posted is from protectall. It has nothing to do with what CR stated in their literature.
You have to remember, they have a product they're trying to sell.

My 2013 ST29SS has an Alpha TPO roof. Alpha recommends Spic and Span and no protective treatment. I believe you need to know if you have a TPO or EDPM membrane.

Proper care and maintenance of your Alpha Systems roof membrane is critical for years of trouble-free performance. Normal maintenance is simple, easy and requires no special materials.

Periodic cleaning (three to four times per year) is the primary maintenance required. Alpha Systems recommends using a non-abrasive household cleaner, such as Top Job or Spic-N-Span, and a medium-bristled scrub brush. Do not use any harsh or highly-abrasive products during cleaning. When finished cleaning, remember to thoroughly rinse the roof and sidewalls in order to remove any soap residue and to prevent streaking. CARE SHOULD BE EXERCISED WHEN WORKING ON TOP OF YOUR UNIT! THE ROOF MAY BECOME SLIPPERY WHEN WET.

DO NOT USE ACETONE, OR ANY OTHER PRODUCTS CONTAINING PETROLEUM DISTILLATES, ON THE ALPHA SYSTEMS ROOF MEMBRANE. USE OF THESE PRODUCTS WILL DAMAGE THE MEMBRANE.

Periodic inspection of the roof, during cleaning, is highly recommended. Check the membrane for signs of damage. Check the caulk/lap sealant used in all termination areas, and around all accessories and fasteners, for signs of cracking or voids.

The roof membrane can be cut or punctured by sharp objects. Caution should be used when placing any articles on the roof. If damage does occur, the membrane can usually be patched.

Alpha's membrane is quite inert and will resist weathering well. It does not require the periodic application of products to protect it from ultra-violet light or ozone. In fact, these products can often cause damage to the roof membrane.

My suggestion is to go to Alpha Systems web site. There is easily downloaded pages of information regarding cleaning and repair. This take the mystery out of the project.
