Roof "Luan" Popping Up

Got back from our maiden voyage in our second new '17 Sunset Trail 289 (check out my need some advice thread for that story) and noticed on the drivers side edge of the roof just behind the slide out there appears to be a spot in the roof where whatever is holding the plywood down at the edge has failed. You can push the plywood back flat and it looks like if it continues to warp up it could pull the rubber out of the edge strip. Right in the center of the bulge is an aluminum truss. Sent pics to dealer and awaiting a review by their service people.

I attached some pictures... the bulge is about 3/4" when not compressed down.

Has any one had this issue or throughts on seriousness and how to repair it?

Looks like in the assemblers rush to go home early, they forgot to put the cheapo staples into a roof joist . Or the gun ran out of staples at that point and was not noticed. To bad there is no inspection on the line...

That's what I was thinking.

I'm assuming the fix would be to loosen the trim piece that holds the rubber roof to the side wall and lift the rubber back and throw a staple or glue under that piece of plywood.

I had a staple that wasn't holding. Tried hammering it back down with a rubber mallet. Ended up cutting a small 3/4 circle in the rubber (1/2" diameter) roof leaving a 'flap'. The original staple was shot at too much of an angle and deflected off the aluminum truss rather than penetrate. So, I pulled it out then pre-drilled a hole for a short "truss screw" (these have a low profile but oversized head) and installed the "truss screw". It pulled the plywood down. Then used RV roofing caulk under and over the flap to prevent water leaks. With the 'flap' towards the front of the trailer, wind and caulk will keep it secure, if not a small patch of RV roofing tape will (I always carry a roll in case a branch damages the roof). But it has held up fine.
