this past week we were cam[ing in cape cod. the trailer spots were pretty tight. while backing in my friend was watching my drivers side rear of the trailer while i had to keep an eye on my pass truck front fender. the two trees were in the perfect spots to making backing in real difficult. well my buddy dropped the ball and the top corner of my roof was tagged by a small broken branch end. it put a one inch tear in the rubber roof. luckily my other friend had a small roll of oof repair tape. i covered the hole within the hour. anyone have a reccomendation for a permenant repair. thanks.
I had something similar happen right after we got our PP. I cleaned the area and dried it then applied a piece of Eternabond tape. It has been like that for 4 years now and still working fine.

thanks kieth, thats what i have on it now. its black though, and the tape was only 2" wide so i put one piece right up to the "gutter trim" than i overlapped another over the top of the roof. the damage is actually on the 2" part of the rubber roof that is vertical. i want to switch it out with a white patch. good thing my buddy had the repair tape, we got pummeled with rain last week in cape cod.
That stuff is very had to pull back off once it has stuck so be careful trying to get the black tape off. I bought a roll of 4" white and sealed the front and back of the roof where it meets the end caps all the way across so I do not have to caulk those seams every year. I got it at the place below.
thanks, maybe i'll overlap the black repair with a larger piece of white. the repair tape was very sticky. on a side note i opened the link you provided and my wife walked in on me....kind of funny that they use pretty girls in tight shirts wearing hard hats??? to sell roofing materials. gotta love those moments. thank you.
if the black patch is fine ,you could get some white roof coat(for rubber roof's),and just and just put a coat over the black patch, the stuff is available at camping world, also at home depot and lowes, when cw fixed my roof under warranty they coated the whole roof with the stuff
I had a similar "ouch" a few years ago where on a tight U-turn a branch reached out and bit me as well. I had 4 2" holes right on the edge radius. I covered the holes with 4" Eternabond tape down to the gutter and then layered another on top. The tape has not come off and although it is a bit ugly, it doesn't leak.
Eternabond- put a cut in my last trailer cleaning it off in the winter. Patched with Eternabond in 2009 and it was still holding when I traded it last year. Always keep some with me - will work on awnings too.</span>
