Roof vents

We live in Colorado and the recent weather has created very strong hail storms. As a result, our roof vents have been broken twice. Is there a stronger roof vent you can recommend?

After going through this same thing on our old trailer I would recommend you get MaxAir covers. I installed them on all our vents. You will still need to replace the covers that broke then cover them with these.

Am I the only one that doesn't like the MaxxAir covers? I had one that came with my Hi-Lo, and I didn't really like it. Don't get me wrong, I didn't dislike it enough to get out a ladder to rip it off, but it is definitely not something I would spend money on.

Is there a reason why? Many people have them to protect the flimsy stock vent covers and so they can be used when it is raining.

I am curious as to your reason why you dislike them. They are nice when you are stuck inside on a rainy day. It is not always warm enough to run the AC so they provide air flow.

I put the MaxxAir II

over our bathroom and bedroom vent. We have a MODEL 5000RBT

Fan-Tastic
Vent in the bedroom and the MaxxAir II are designed to provide the required flow path for the fan.

With the MaxxAir II cover on I am able to leave the vents open when needed. In heavy rains I have never had any rain come in the RV with these covers.

We had the dealer install the Fan-Tastic Vent fan instead of a second AC in the bedroom.

We love the maxair covers. The smoke color allows you to see through it. We love being able to leave roof vents open for airflow when camping or when in storage.

The cover restricts airflow and limits how far the vent can open to about half. I figured I may as well leave it closed with the amount of air flow the thing got. The extra protection is nice, but a replacement vent costs 1/2 the price if the protective cover you are putting over it. If we need any air flow during a rain, we open up the big window that is under the awning, and the door which is under the awning.

Have to agree with you. It also blocks out the view
