at front edge where it meets cap. Has anyone had this issue, membrane pulled out from under metal retaining strip and appears that it was not glued properly to plywood, and gotten it repaired at a local shop or the factory. Curious to know how much time and money is involved. Although it is clearly a workmanship issue, our unit is 3-1/2 years old and I am sure that Crossroads will not claim ownership. Let me know how things went if you have experienced this problem. Thanks.

I had the same issue with mine but found it on our shake down trip. HOWEVER, the repair my dealer made still had a small bubble that later got worse. CR would not claim any blame or cost since it was past the 2 years. Because of the other damage that was caused by the bubble getting larger I had to have the front 5 ft replaced at my cost.

After buying mine I had the following issues, after reading were common with the PP, front roof meeting at the cap, graphics cracking, and the water hose at the fresh water tank leaking when full.

Since time of buying the camper I have continued to check the roof and reseal any crack in the sealant. I think in 05 they had a problem on the production line.

good luck

george

George, fortunately I check, clean and treat my roof in the spring and fall which for the most part keeps me ahead of most problems. I did notice when checking last fall that the caulk at this same position had separated and was hoping that is was just the caulk failing. Cleaned it up and put new sealant all the way across. Went up yesterday to start spring work and noticed the rubber pulled back about an inch from strip, it had shrank significantly. Iwas able to lift the membrane and get my fingers back under about 6 inches, which indicates to me that it was not properly glued or it wouldn't have pulled out from under the retaining strip. I am going to check with my CSP policy to see if it covers such failures. Thanks for your reply.

Isn't there a 10 year roof warranty?

I could be wrong but I think the 10 year warranty is for the rubber not installation. I am sure there are a number of things for the glue to let go and causing bubbles. Then it goes down hill from there as far as the bubble getting better. This in no case should happen if there is proper overlap with the cap and sealed. Since I put out the bucks for the repair I am extra vigilant on everything on top.

I am sure Daniel is doing everything right and S#@$ happens. It happened to me.

you are correct, George. The 10 year roof warranty is for failure of the membrane only.

My rubber did not fail yet (knock on wood), the entire sheet is there, it just pulled out from under the retaining strip. I have got to call CrossRoads tuesday to release an order for repair parts (blew a tire) and I am going to ask about it anyways (they can only tell me NO)Edited by: delqcc

I have never had a problem with the roof and I wanted to mke sure it stayed that way, I ordered a few rolls of the 4" etrnabond tape and I just got done covering every sealed joint on the roof, I especially sealed the metal to rubber roof strips on the front and back of the unit, if it had sealer on it I cleaned it and covered it with etrnabond tape, seemed a smart thing to do before a problem starts....and alot cheaper to do it now than wait for a leak
