RV Cover?
This year we purchased a 300RK and have been enjoying it. I would like to put a cover over it since it stays outside. My question is what do those of you who have covers recommend? I've read some horrible reviews so I thought I'd ask on here. Looking for something that will last, allow access to trailer, ease of installation and won't break the bank. Thanks

We had one on other camper, it seem like it drawled more dampness and just didn't let the trailer breath like it was suppose too! Our new one sits outside, not sure about covers anymore and ours was over 700.00. Good luck

I thought I remember Crossroads saying they don't recommend them. They listed the same reason that Mike mentioned.
The biggest risk with a naked camper would be getting an ice dam on the roof where the rubber meets the front cap and back wall. Freezing/thawing could cause that seam to open up and cause a leak. Put a half sheet of plywood over each end (with some blocks to hold it down).

Wax the exterior good, cover the skylights/vents with something & call it good. IMHO the covers are too expensive for no longer than they last (about 2 seasons) & can do more damage than without.

Or, just buy a cover for the AC. Use Eternabond tape on the front and back seams and you should not experience cracking.

True, they are only good for two or three years -maybe longer in a windless area- but they do keep the sun off along with all the tree stuff and bird stuff. Makes spring clean up easier too when you have trees dribbling on them in the spring. I beat the salesman out of one and like it but am unsure if I will buy a replacement or not. I probably will. I think they are beneficial but certainly not a good value.

Can you use that Eternabond around the vents as well? I guess I am thinking as a precautionary measure? I will definitely be buying some of it and keeping it in the camper just in case I spring a leak!
THANKS!!!

I notice everyone on this post is located in Texas or points east. I'm wondering if there is a geographical element in this...
I'm in California and have to store my trailer outside. it is a 2015 and I'm sure the PO kept it outside as well, as the decal on the front is pretty cracked and faded already. I looked at my roof today and it seems in pretty good shape, but I'm pretty sure I want to get a cover to at least protect the front and top from the brutal sun we get out here.

They do sell a cover that only covers the roof. https://www.adcoprod.com/Roof-top-covers

I am also in ca. I tried a cover with a previous trailer and in the wind it ended up marring the gel coat. The one I had before this one for 6 years. I would have it it washed and waxed every spring and fall. Roof treatment done at the same time. In 6 years of sitting in the sun the body and decals were like new. I did have to replace the vent covers and slide awnings due to UV

are you using the eternabond tape just to secure the AC cover on over the winter months?
