Ive noticed small cracks in the chaulking used around the windows and other places...do you guys re-chaulk right over the old bead, and what type do you prefer? Ive seen the proflex rv sealant at tweetys....that the only option?...

I have used Proflex. It seems to hold up well.

I've used Proflex in the past and I think it is an excellent product. However, it cleans up with mineral spirits and if you are only using a small amount, the tube will dry up by the next time you need it. I now use DAP Dynaflex 230. It comes in a squeeze tube, so I can use it to touch up small areas as needed. It is probably the best latex(water cleanup)sealant I've used. I go right over the old stuff as long as the old sealant isn't pealing away.

Proflex works the best if your looking for OEM sealant that can be applied over the factory sealant. I touch the area's up. If you tape the end closed you can re-use Proflex up to a few months.

Be very careful with Latex caulking, not all brands will go over the factory sealant and actually stick.

One trick I use is painters blue tape. Tape the seam and touch up. With a rag soaked on the finger tip wipe the seam. Remove tape immediatly. Nice clean tight lines like the factory
