I just bought a Barker 42 gallon Super Tote, The tote is large as would be expected. Since the Cruiser hastwo 40 gallon black tanks and two gray tanks I figure this will eliminate a bunch of dump trips when camped in one place for extended periods.

The question is: how do I secure the tank when at a campground and not in use? My original thought was to use the handle but it is attached to the tank with a quick release pin. Any of you have/use one of these monsters and, if so, what is method to secure?

Why do you need to secure it? I would not think those things are a high theft item.

I really wish that were true but there are folks who will steal anything, nailed down or otherwise. If it would get stolen my wish is it for it to be full of black tank discharge!

Why don't you just roll the tank under your 5vr and hook up the fill hose to the tank and the main tank discharge pipe. If it's sort of out of sight, then it's out of mind. I realize that there are people, who would steal the All Mighty off of the cross, and later go back for the nails, but a tote tank........PeeeeUuuuuuu!!!!.

This is a four wheel, 42 gallon tank costing $250. We will be in a city park that closes its gate at night but people can come and go during the daytime with limited policing.

I would like to believe in the honesty of others but given my background in law enforcement I a a skeptic.

If it's clean, why not put it into the bed of the truck and hide it there?

Or, put a ring and chain on the axle and lock it to the trailer.

The handle release, can you get a long shank lock to go thru that hole to maybe hook up the tank?or perhaps a cable lock will fit in there.

I think I will remove the handle, slip a padlock with a long hasp through the place where the handle would be mounted and use a security cable to anchor to the bottom of the king support which also has a security lock. If they get through that then they deserve owning the new poop filled tank!
