I did have a good conversation with Randy at Crossroads and he explained how to fix the problem. He said that the material used on my unit was discontinued after a couple of years. In a nutshell, you extend the slideout, remove a plastic runner on the forward and aft ends of the slideout, retract about 6 inches, jack up the slideout slightly, stuff the new material in toward the interior of the camper, flip up the carpet, staple it to the top of the slideout floor, pull the material tight, staple it to the outer edge of the slideout floor, replace the fore and aft runners and that is supposed to fix the problem.
Right now my camper is at Camping World getting new slideout toppers and awning so they will give me an estimate on repairing the sheathing.
