Hola Amigos! Hello! Just wanted to ask aquestion about grounding a TT ?? I was installing a spare tire mount and got a small shock. Not real good if your barefoot? My question is" what" is grouding the trailer? The negative or neutral wire at the source? It is OK I checked it with a curcuit tester , multimeter to the earth literally ,ground is reading 51 volts or abouthalf a curcuit of AC power? Where would you look first? Is the main question ?? Thanks..........Brad 1bajaboy@charter.net

The RV is grounded via the power cable to the power source (pedestal or your house wiring) IF these themselves are grounded. If you got a shock then something is wrong and should be checked out.

Your ground is working, check your neutral at the shore power plug. That would be the 1st place to start, then check all the way to the buss bar on the breaker box.

The problem is the shore power. It has the neutral and power wires are reversed and it's very likely at the receptacle. When the wires are reversed, the load (the trailer) becomes energised via the neutral back to ground at the power source, so when you touch the trailer and ground, you form a current path that will give you a shock. Note: Everything in the trailer will work fine because the equipment has the necessary voltage to work, even thought the polarity is reversed.

You might check the refer after this. It is polarity friendly & not very forgiving on thedual voltage module.
