The Sunset Trail isn't my first TT, and I had never lowered the table before.
However, the table in the Sunset Trail is made with a solid surface material, and it's sort of top heavy and the table is free standing with collapsible legs. On one of my first trips, the table was laying sideways in the dinette. Fortunately, it didn't break the table, or even worse I could see where it may punch a hole in the paneling, if it fell and jammed one of the legs into the bench part of the dinette.
So, the short answer is, with the Sunset Trail TT, we're taking the table down for piece of mind.
Sort of wish there were some way to anchor while traveling, but last place I would want to put a hole, is in the floor of my trailer, not knowing where wires, plumbing, water tanks, etc. are hiding out since the ST has a enclosed bottom.
