Slide Out Boot???

Does anyone have slide out boots? Pro vs Cons. I just watched an install video and it seems ok. I would like to see what you guys think.

Not sure why its needed but to each his own. Also it would block the side windows on my slide

I guess it would stop any leaking but I sure do not see a need for it.

It's supposed to take the place of a slide awning.

Seems like a waste of time and money to me. If you have leak problems fix the leak the proper way. Looks like another gimmick.

Again a personal choice. Friends have them I do not. More canvas to replace down the line. IMHO

I do rcomend them. You live in the south, Lots of pine straw pinecones, acorn, and a vast assortment of other junk that falls on the slides. The other side bar is that it helps keep that slide cooler

There are pros an cons with slide out awnings. The cons are as mentioned are technical problems and further maintenance down the road, harder to clean top of slide outs when debris does get under awning and if you have strong winds they flap in the breeze making quite a racket, I've lost more than a few nights sleep by the noise. Pros, may help a bit if very hot conditions and it does help a bit keeping debri from tops.
