Slide out problems

Hello all, I am new to forum. I have a cruiser CF31REP fifth wheel, 2010. Bought it new in 2012. Lots of problems, but latest has me fuming. The big slide out, dining table and couch will not go out. When control is pushed, just sounds like it is ratcheting. This happened on the other slide just over a year ago, so seems to be recurring problem. Crossroads would do nothing for other slide, said two year warranty did not cover parts made by other companies, so seems entire unit had no warranty, but I digress. Anyway, does anyone know what type controls/motors are used on this unit? Is this a common problem? Is there anything I can do to repair? Cost almost $800 to repair last time at dealer, so not looking forward to that since we are retired. Any and all info and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My big slide out sometimes does that especially when stowed for an extended period. All it takes is one turn with the manual crank and all is well. I assume the seals stick.

No, not stuck seals. Turning manual crank does nothing, just spins. Like connection broke.

Download the Lippert Manual from our Document section. (the 31.85 size one)

There is sections in there for trouble shooting. Seems to me that you have a gear slipping or worn. Probably something your repair shop must handle.
