You didn't mention if your trailer is new or an older one. If your trailer isnew, then it would be a warranty issue, but if it'san older trailer, then I would suggest thatyou take your trailer to a dealer or an awning repair shop and have them replace the topper. If they do the work for you, then there will likely be some sort of work and product warranty on the new topper. There are some pretty heavy springs in that wind-up reel and if you attempt to work on it yourself, you could be in for a serious injury. I think that I would opt to pay someone else to take therisk.
