When the slides are IN, is it normal for the bottom of the slide to stick out a little further than the top from the side of the cruiser? Other 5ers that we have seem in campgrounds seem to be flush with the sides at top and bottom. Our Cruiser slides protrude especially at the bottom. Top is maybe 1/2 inch and the bottom is at least an inch. NORMAL???? or is there an adjustment that we need to make? Thanks in advance for any advise!

It should be the same top and bottom. I would have the dealer adjust it.

Unfortunately the closest dealer is 3 1/2 hours away. A closer one has closed within the last year so even though our unit is less than two years old, we are trying to fix things ourselves if we can. We have become quite competent mechanics recently.

Anyone out there know how to adjust the slides so that they are flush at the top and bottom when closed???

Thanks for your help!

If you look under the slide you will see the threaded rod in front of the bell cover there are two lock nuts there to hold it in place.

I recommend a call to the service center at CrossRoads. If it is a Lippert slide you can download the manual from this website

You might try a local RV dealer. It may not be too expensive to have it adjusted locally rather than spending the money on fuel to have it done free under warrantee.

If the bottom is sticking out farther than the top, then you need to adjust it to pull in more before it hits the limit of travel. The top always makes contact first while the motor then pulls the bottom in tight. All of the "clamping" force is at the bottom since the mechanism is below the floor. The only force keeping the top closed is the weight of the slide-out trying to tip inwards.
