Has anyone had any "bad smells?" We just went camping this past weekend in our new Sunset Trail St 30RE. It has the rear entertainment center where the TV pops up. When we did pop up the TV there was a strong odor; almost like "burning rubber."

No idea where it originates from.

Anyone have any clues?

Thx.

I would guess it is just your new TV "burning in" and being confined inside an enclosed cabinet you get a smell of it when the TV comes out. Most electronics give off a burning smell when you use them the first few times. If you feel like it is something more than that I would take it in and have the dealer look at it under warranty.

I believe Keith (Hunter11) is correct, new electronics do emit a smell the first few times in my experience. If it persists let the dealer check it out for your peace of mind.

Please note however that while the burning smell may be normal flames and smoke are not. These should be addressed as soon as possible.

We have a Crossroads Sunset Trail 31RE with Fireplace and TV in the back and have been on 4 trips this year and have not had any odor of any sort like what you describe. You may want to get it looked at. It may be nothing, but better safe than sorry.

By the way, since we're still new at this, can anyone let me know how we can post a photo of our RV?
