St270bh - Replace vent fan

Hi,

My ceiling/roof fan in the bathroom is getting a bit moldy. It's also very noisy. Rather then clean it, I was thinking to replace it.

Can I replace just the fan and fan brace without having to go on the roof and pull out the whole vent frame?

I'd rather not mess with the roof with the concern that I might do it wrong and introduce a leak where there wasn't one.

Thanks,
Mike

Just replaced mine with a Vortex II. Simply switch . Same base and vent .

Harley -- so you didn't need to yank out the whole assembly -- just replaced the fan unit?

Does this fan reroute the knob to lift the lid? About how long did this take you? I am sure I can find a way to mess this up, replace screen and fan sounds too easy.

New screen has a new knob that lines up with original spline for the lid lifter....trust me , you cannot go wrong. If you sell trailer you can just put old one back on ....

In future note that if your fan is getting moldy so is everything else in the bathroom. I always eave the fan running during and after showers until all the moisture is eliminated.
