Hello all,

I have a concern about my 2012 Rushmore and want to see if anyone has encountered it. My unit is now out of warranty ( except I believe the roof has a 10 year warranty) and I have staples working up and causing pressure on my roof membrane. I can't tamp them doen as it may cause a tear in the roof membrand and they will just work back out again.

HAs anyone had this concern and how did Crossroads handle it?

Thanks for your reply.

This has been an issue in the past but not especially common. Not sure of the fix but you are not alone. Someone with experience will chime in.

Thanks. I hope so as I'm not too happy if I have to my to fix this at my expense. I have no control as to how the staples are installed and I maintain the roof properly.

That happened with my 30RE . Crossroads replaced the decking and staples. said the wrong staples were used.

Once the staples start working up they will only get worse.

I had the same issue. Took it in (under my 2 year warranty), and had the dealer repair. Was substantial effort (remove roof membrane, deal with the staples, then re-install membrane). They had to remove the awning, and fridge chimney etc. But it was all covered by CR.

Thanks Paul. Was your rv still under warranty at the time?

I just received a reply that they would pay for 4 hours of labor. I don't know if that will cover it. We'll see.

I think my repair was something like 20 hours of labour. It wasn't an easy fix from what my dealer told me.

Did you buy from the dealer doing the repair??? and how many hours does he estimate the repair to take????? Four hours doesn't sound like enough time to do that kink of repair.!!!Edited by: sleepyT

4 hours sounds completely unrealistic for your problem. You need a greater commitment on labor estimate. Best of luck keep pushing.

Paul,

Was your unit under warranty at the time you had the staple item?

Four hours is not nearly enough time. Seems mine was around 20 hrs too. It's a big job.
