I'm honestly not sure you can get rid of it unless there is some recent miracle cure I don't know about. As far as it know you can only scrub it with everything you can think of, ozone it and hope that time heals all smells as well as all wounds. The smell tends to get into the plastic and any crevices in the unit. If you don't replace the fridge I think you may have to deal with it indefinitely. Hopefully someone else has a more hopeful solution.
