IMHO, YES !
Progressive industries is the only choice in my humble opionion...
had the same external one for the last4 rv's

what size ? there are only two - one for 30 amp and one for 50 amp.

well, maybe 4 if you include the internal hard wired and external plug in for each amperage

I would say yes.
Progressive Industries---Life time warranty.
Size depends on whether your trailer is 50 amp or 30 amp.

Thank you for the feedback. I know there 30 or 50 amps and my camper is a 30amp. I just noticed that there are several to choose from and was wondering if one stands out over the others. This is our first camper and since it's brand new I'd really don't want to see something bad happen like a lightning surge or something.

Thanks again!

If your rig is 30 amps, then that is the size surge guard you should get.

Ah - you are asking about the version !
get the ems version - better protection...

I was at a nice little park in Ingram, Texas and the ems version wouldn't let power through...
the on site maint man said my ems was broken...

I said, uh NO - give me another site...

EMS was fine - pedestal was wired wrong

I agree. Maybe this chart will help.

As you can see by the response of fellow members Progressive is the clear choice, and I concur...The only other advise I can offer at this point is to study the chart and remember the old adage " Pay me now or pay me later...Some of the choices are expensive, but could save you money and aggravation in the long run...
